Outlined are brief descriptions of some of the job positions held in the City of Pomeroy.
City Clerk - the City Clerk in Pomeroy has a wide variety of responsibilities. This person is responsible for all financial reporting, utility billing, utility reports, payrolls, ordinance updates, council minutes, web master, and public relations.
Public Works - the Public Works department is responsible for keeping your streets clean, in any weather or season. They also maintain and operate the water and wastewater plants. Other duties include spraying weeds, mowing, and general maintenance needs.
Police Chief - the Police Chief plans, coordinates, and directs the functions of the Police Department. Duties include performing specialized and technical law enforcement duties; community relations; confidential work associated with law enforcement, the protection of life and property, and crime prevention; and preparing and administering departmental budget. Position requires expert managerial and leadership skills.
