Library Services
Library Card There is no charge for obtaining a Library card. Simply stop in and sign up at the front desk for your personal access number. Book, Books, Books, Libraries are well-known for having a lot of BOOKS to enjoy. We offer both paperback and hardvover books, in both nonfiction and fiction. We also offer LARGE print BOOKS. Most books can be checked out for 14 days and can be renewed for another 14 days. We appreciate the return of all materials in a timely manner, so other may also enjoy them as well. Magazines & Newspapers Our library subscribes to over 25 magazines. Back issues of these periodicals are dept one year. we are slso able to request magazine articles from the Northwest Regional Library. Newsapapers offered through the library are the Calhoun Co. Journal/Herald &the Pocahontas Record Democrat. Videos and DVDS We have a wide variety of video and DVD movies available: classics, and children's favorites, as well as educational selections. All selections are checked out in the same manner as a book. Auio Cassettes & CDs The Pomeroy Public Library carries a random selection of novels for both adults and children. Inter-Library Loan We are part of the Northwest Regional Library System. With its help, the Pomeroy Library has the capability to do a nation wide search to locate material by Title, Author, or Subject. Our software system can gain access to more than 5.5 million items in many of the public libraries across the state. Open Access We participate in the Open Access Program through the State Library of Iowa. This enables any Patron with a personal access card to check out materials at any location in the state and return them to any participating library when finished.
